A quick post today to share a picture I took and worked on Photoshop. Not sure which one I like better, but I’m leaning towards the un-retouched image (A). Like you, I too question whether a photo should be edited more than just the usual cropping and spec removal. Which one do you like better?  A  B (No Ratings Yet) Loading ...
 The winner is Dan! And the winner is…Dan! I loved how he adapted her pose to the settings. With her elbow crushing the top of the building to the helicopter in her hair, it all works wells with her facial expression. All the other submissions were very good, but I think Dan’s version was very imaginative. After seeing his other samples on flickr, I can see he’s a master in creating “giants”! Dan, I can see now how her evil sexy look inspired you to create this image, well done! Dan, look in your in-box for your special set of pictures. Its come time to showcase the submissions I received for the mini photo editing contest. The cut off time was yesterday to include your edited image. I received a total of 5 entries. This is how it will work. Each photo includes the first name of the person who submitted the edited picture. Please vote for your favorite image by making a comment at the bottom of this post and include the picture # or name on your comment. Use the “leave a comment” function below to cast your vote. Also, one vote per person please, I’ll be able to tell if multiple votes are coming from the same person so don’t cheat! Thank you to all who submitted your images! So far I’ve received 5 entries and I must say, they are all great! The creativity is awesome. If you haven’t downloaded the picture to work on here it is again, download it here. Remember, I’ll cut the submissions on Tuesday May 25th. By the end of the next day I’ll upload them to the site and everyone can choose the winner!  Unedited version - Download Often readers of this blog or my flickr account edit my pictures for fun. I love seeing the different versions people create with them. Many times they look better than the way I would have edited them! So here it is, the picture on the left is un-edited, and for the most part straight out of the camera. Its a large file, a picture I took last year. Click on the image to see the larger version and download it. Work on it as you see fit to make it look better. Crop it, change colors, sharpen, blur, anything you like. Use any photo editing software to make it look the way you want it. Then send it to me and I will post them here at outletphotography.com. I’ll then ask the readers to choose the “winner”. The winner will get a “special” set of pictures from one of my past shoots. As you can see, my little contest is not exactly a contest, only a way for everyone to learn photo editing skills from seeing each others work. Also, if you are a “friend” of mine via Flickr and submit a picture, I’ll be sure to send you a special “picture”! The deadline to submit your picture is Tuesday, May 25th. Have fun!
